Trip to Tijuana: San Diego

It was quite easy going through the immigration office at the border. They just simply swiped my green card and I'm in the U.S. I guess it is because I did not bring any belonging with me. I only had my backpack with me. So, he knew that I was in Mexico for a short visit. Which is quite nice. It was way too easy to pass through, unless other major airports in the U.S.

It was so easy to get to downtown San Diego with the blue line trolley. Way too easy than I thought. I bought a $5.00 1-day pass. It took care of everything. I even took the bus to get to the zoo trying to see the Panda. Surprisingly, it costs $20 or $25 dollars to get in. Plus, I was running out of time, so I didn't get in. Come to think of it, the public transportation system in Mexico City is super convenient.

Trip to Tijuana: Aviacsa

I have to go to Tijuna to get a new visa. They only gave me 70 days at the airport. So, I have to leave the country to get in. Well, I always wanted to see Tijuana and San Diego. It was quite cool.

I flew Aviacsa from DF to Tijuana. It costs about $265.oo USD. Wasn't too bad. The service was quite good. The food was okay. At least, they won't charge you $5.00 for a little lunch bag, like United Airlines. The flight attnedents are all pretty friendly as well. I had a good experience with them. And I would recommend them to anyone else.

The airport customs took away my FMT (travel card) and after I passed them to the lobby, I asked for another one immediately. The other offer asked me what I´d do in Mexico and I just said I would be travelling and learning the Mexican culture. I did it in Spanish, so he sent me to pay the $21.00 fee at Aviacsa counter and later gave me another 70 days, but I asked for 90 days. Next time I am going to ask for 180 days, the maximum.

Taxi Ride

I'm becoming bolder and bolder now. I am starting to take taxi from the street at night. Well, I make sure that I don't have a lot of cash to lose first. So, in a way I'm still very cautious. I think as my Spanish gets better each day, I get less intimidated.

The weather is getting colder and colder each day, but still not really cold, compared to SF.
